Training the Trainer – EVA Airways’ Journey to Implement EBT

EVA Airways is one of the pioneers to implement Evidence Based Training (EBT) in Asia. Like most of our counterparts in the rest of the world, EVA Airways faced several challenges during the planning, developing and the implementation process. This presentation intends to share EVA’s attempt to introduce EBT and its grading system to the instructor pilots. 

Similar to CRM at its infancy, EBT was developed and based on Western cultures and was intended for a just culture environment. Therefore, EVA faced some challenges while attempting to implement a Western idea in an Eastern world. The presentation will share the insights and lessons learned by EVA while attempting to adopt a cultural changing training concept and encourage acceptance.
